They spent 20 years in Afghanistan trying to get the country to stand on its feet but ultimately Pakistan's terror machine had unlimited terror resources to draw on (millions of illiterate and poor and brainwashed young men) to continue a slow burn fight. Do I think Biden fucked up, yeah but I don't care and I'm glad we're getting the fuck out of that shit hole.

Biden fucked up in the execution - leaving equipment and (American) civilians on the ground as the soldiers left, being sure to load military dogs on the planes while Afghani's fell from the landing gear. It's not the move out of Afghanistan that people are appalled by, it's the manner in which it was done. Be at least as hard on Biden for this as you would if Trump was overseeing such a shitshow, even ignoring that Biden was supposed to be the wise, steady hand on the tiller. This was a reckless cock-up by any measure. If there was a worse way to get out of Afghanistan, I have trouble imagining it. Napalming the crowds on the way out, maybe?
Frankly i don't expect much greatness from Biden. Back in March he responded to Texas lifting the mask mandate, by saying it was Neanderthal thinking. And the rest is history.
If he could end the War on Drugs that would be something though, although i suspect there are too many interests in law enforcement agencies to let that happen.
