There is a war effectively shutting down Dubai and Middle East air traffic. Masked Paramilitary forces are stopping and seizing people off American streets. If I didn’t live here, I would avoid the US too.
Those very rates are a big turn off. We’ve heard of the expensive tickets, and mass transit rates have skyrocketed. Even locals will be priced out. FIFA has forgotten what this is all about. 48 teams, 3 host countries, premium pricing, it’s all a bit much.
And "world" match is going to be impossible for the vast majority of people. You have to be wealthy just to get there. Most people will never even consider going to a FIFA match, or an Olympics.
Price slashing now seems to have more to do with the US and the crises they've created than with FIFA. Maybe FIFA should be putting a lot more into making sure that at least a few ordinary people can make it to a match. There are a lot of matches this time around, and I'm sure most of them have little interest outside the two countries involved.
Turns out when you allow thousands of illegal immigrants into the country and prevent law enforcement from doing their job, there are consequences. Who could've guessed?
