I can understand why there's a divide between developers who are excited about frontend developers moving into full-stack roles and those who have reservations about it. Here's the problem. It's developers vs developers? Where are the other roles and/or concerns?
React isn't just for developers (I hope).
A CDN is well optimized for performance and costs. Now we need to run edge functions so CDN "companies" can make more $$$? Most of these solutions e.g. lambdas, cloud functions, etc have just made it worse with more complexity, cold starts and more drama. It really just trades 1 thing for another.
It’s entirely for developers. The sakes pitch was that the greater system resource demand and lower robustness would be balanced out by faster delivery of new features.
