Back in 2012 Mike Konczal, director of the Roosevelt Institute in New York, wrote about what libraries might look like under a rapacious, rent-seeking system. Among other thoughts, he suggested, “They might require people to rent books from approved private libraries”

I subscribe to the FB and Insta accounts of local libraries in my county and those next to mine, and it appears that many of the librarians view much of their position to be engaging in agitprop for certain political points of view. I can understand why funding may dry up when half of the stakeholders in the library are alienated due to culture warring.
