I’m 23 Years Old. and I’ve Bought a Farm (thefp.com)

No 22 year old is getting a $200K mortgage with no income. Dude's mom bought him a farm. Yet another story of some rich kid having something bought for them being spun as pulling themselves up by their bootstraps.

It says he works at an investment firm at the end of the essay: "Max Meyer works at the venture capital firm 8VC in Austin, Texas."

That's a little better but still tantamount to having it given to them. Investors are parasites who make their living off of other people's labor.

Did you not read the article?

> I didn’t see it at the time, but wanting an expensive camera was Jackson’s way of trying to commit himself to something he saw as big and real. This was bigger than competing with me, his brother. It was about his future.

In other words, "I'm going to trigger sunk cost fallacy in myself". Great idea.

This is incoherent

Agreed, but the reader is left with the impression that the author is a Stanford graduate, well off despite his young age, and full of spontaneous energy. If we consider this to be the primary goal of the piece, then it did its job well.
