I'm not sure I quite get why MS Paint doesn't have most of the features of Paint.Net or PaintShop Pro 7 had at this point. It should be at a point where basic use cases should largely be covered with in the box software (even if you need to download from the windows store).
I would find Paint to be much less useful if it had advanced features in it. That it is fairly basic is a strength for a lot of uses (most of the uses I put it to).
Much like how there are often times when a very basic text editor like Notepad is much better than one with lots of bells and whistles.
I'm not wanting a huge number of bells/whistles... PSP7 was pretty basic, even at the time. I mean, most of the time I open up Pinta (Paint.Net clone) is to crop down a screenshot and draw a box/circle around a specific point.
I have an old version from win 7. Is much more usable than the parody of paint which came with win 10.
