I expect this is the next issue for Elon to solve, now that all the government agencies access to Twitter has been revoked.

As long as propagandists pay where is the problem? That's why 4chan has user-hostile captcha and a convenient payed API.

Enshittification as a service. Are users demanding a bot-free social network? I don't see that.

The propagandists pay more than the advertisers, who are interested in humans engaging with the ad content? I find this hard to believe, but if so, seems like Elon has a bonanza on his hands, and Twitter may indeed be profitable! Thanks for the economic insight!

many of those accounts were owned by indonesians. probably got hacked after many data leaks in breached/raid forum

Hateful? Most of these are clearly porn scams.

Are we still getting our panties in a knot over mean things said on the internet?

Because 'mean things' shared on the internet have real life consequences?

Aren't mean things only mean when they're true? No one gets hurt by insults that aren't believable. Seems like a losing battle trying to make the world be 'nice'. As they say, 'touch grass'.

> No one gets hurt by insults that aren't believable.

Take your own advice. I think you're the one who needs to touch grass.

lol is that the best you got? I'm still waiting to hear how 'mean things' don't have to be true or atleast a generally agreed upon belief for subjective matters. I just spent 3 days in the woods too and if I had to guess you've not spent much time outdoors. I can tell because your views are completely artificial and detached.

My point is this: Your claim that no one get's hurts by insults/speech that aren't believable is false. For example, People make absurd claims about vaccines that "aren't believable", leading to people dying over 'unbelievable claims'.

> your views are completely artificial and detached. Polio in Nigeria: 'I opposed vaccinations until my son caught polio' https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-50266547

My claim is that 'mean things' have to be true. Claiming a false belief isn't mean or an insult, that's just being wrong.

> No one gets hurt by insults that aren't believable.

Oh, come on, you don't seriously believe that?
