Some TVs (LGs for instance) allow you to turn off the screen while keeping the audio on. Perfect for podcast or songs.


Sony Bravia also allows this.


Yeah, a dedicated button right on the remote for it. Love it, comes in very useful.

It was also handy to annoy my GF with, before she cottoned on to it.


While true, I barely even know where the TV remote is. AppleTV + it’s remote is all I need.

I also airgap the TV and distrust any smartTV software.
