These have become increasingly more common around my parts (in Germany), and thankfully these are not run by some VC-backed startup, but by actual local companies. That's good news because they integrate with existing public transit passes, so everyone with a tram pass can just swipe the tram pass on a bike and start using it with some pretty generous discounts.
