The thesis of the article might be true, but this is a reason to be more careful with private information, not less. If companies are sloppy in analyzing gathered data and do not value it enough, they might not very good at safeguarding it from bad actors who will use it to their advantage more “efficiently”.


Good point. But if trackers and profilers aren't that good/accurate at analyzing the data, what makes us think that bad actors are any better at it?
