LibHunt – trending open-source projects and their alternatives (libhunt.com)
6 points by stanislavb on Feb 9, 2021 | hide | past | favorite | 1 comment

Hey mates, this is Stan here. I released this v2 of LibHunt 2 months ago. It tracks all posts on Hacker News and Reddit mentioning open-source projects. Based on that data, you can find the top trending open-source projects per programming language as well as alternatives based on mentions in common posts (e.g. https://www.libhunt.com/r/Signal-iOS).

The core that tracks (almost in real-time) mentions is written in Elixir (Phoenix + Broadway). The front-end is Ruby on Rails + Turbo (the old Turbolinks).

I'd be more than happy to receive any ideas, feedback or critique here. Thanks!
