Crystal is a bit faster at prime number crunching than D. I haven't done any optimizations, just a loop, math, push and hash ops. Its's on par with Go, which is also very fast. Compilation with the release option is slower.
I really like some of the features of D for userspace programs. Optional GC for hot paths, the ability to write raw ASM if needed, familiarity of java/cpp. Really wish it would take off more.
