You know, traditional paellas already have snails as an ingredient, which aren't insects but I think still have the cultural unfamiliarity to Western palates.

As a Frenchman I had to taste snails. Dreadful. There is no taste, just some earthy blob drowning in butter and garlic.
I tried three times in three different restaurants and I was disappointed every time.

Take them out of their shell and tell people they're a type of clam and they'll never know the difference.
