Luck, but definition, is something outside of your control. Any time you have influence over your luck, it's no longer luck, it's ability. Maybe this school teaches people to recognize the opportunities in their life (still a privileged position), but luck by its definition is success or failure outside of one's control.

The idea that one chooses to be lucky or remain unlucky is about as sensible as theology.
