In 2016, Finnish government seized 1666 Bitcoins from a drug dealer, in what was the largest seizure of drug money in the country's history.
At the time of arrest and seizure, Bitcoin was at $400. 5 days ago BTC rate exceeded $15000, today it is over $17000.
Thus, at time of arrest, the seized Bitcoins were worth 568 000 €. Currently they are valued at 15 400 000 €. Government will sell the Bitcoins as soon as the sentencing from appeals courts is final. It seems that the delay caused by appeals of the dealer have resulted in the best monetary investment the government has done in recent history - assuming that Bitcoin valuation does not collapse before the government can sell.
