The End of Heroku? (medium.com/s.anderson)

I kinda felt like this was an ad but.. a good one (since it actually encourages me to give Nanobox a try).

I have recently come to strongly appreciate Heroku as a way to avoid any ops headaches but getting similar benefits on different clouds (and in local dev environments) would be very handy and things like Manifold - https://www.manifold.co/ - are now replicating the Heroku Elements/Add-ons store which could help a lot too.

Yes, the title is quite misleading. Turns out it's a catch :) Anyway, Heroku showed the trail, and now there are many competitors in the space, but what is good for the us, the clients.

I just came across another article that talks about alternatives for doing what Heroku does, and it's from a Heroku consulting company: https://semaphoreci.com/community/tutorials/creating-a-herok...

It seems like there's a lot of discussion recently about Heroku alternatives.

I wouldn't say those discussions have as much to do with Heroku's limitations as much as they have to do with all the details and complications technology companies encounter as the bulk of adopters continue moving to the cloud.
