Alternatively, you can build an Adafruit MacroPad in 15 minutes. It's the same concept with a custom keyboard, an OLED, and a rotary encoder. I've been using it for years, and not only is it compatible with Linux, but the code is also available and is 100% customizable.

Where can you find gecko? Has it finally been published?

textembedding-gecko reached GA on June 7th, together with text-bison.

You can view all the models available to you on Model Garden.

It doesn't seem to be available to me. How do I get access? If I remember correctly gecko is small enough to run on device.

Are you referring to the text-gecko model? I don't think it's released to the public yet.

> If I remember correctly gecko is small enough to run on device.

Yes, I also remember reading that it's designed to be lightweight enough to run on a mobile device.

Some scientists are already doing exactly that, closing the gap between research-driven science focused on understanding, and the role of scientists integrating it in society via politics.

(Disclaimer: Not my book, but a friend's) You can learn more on the topic in "Impact Science: The science of getting to radical social and environmental breakthroughs" which comes with a wonderful list of real-world stories.

Thanks for the shoutout @zetalabs. FWIW, the whole book is also available for free here https://impactscience.dev/

And then you focus in your work email for a while and personal explodes. At least this happens to me as a vast portion of my network is international.

I'll make sure out frontend lead takes this into account for v2.

Excellent! I look forward with eager anticipation to being able to crowbar my way through a full inbox, instead of just wishing I could.

Precisely the model we follow :), and the reason we named the tool that way: "Not only does Half-Life refer to the scientific model, it refers to the feeling that we spend half our lives on answering e-mails."

To understand it better, make sure you head to the About section or read the blog post linked at the top of the page.
