Congratulations on the launch! Looks fantastic! I have built a product https://gettrici.com that records your screen and stores the recordings locally as well. As a developer, watching a quick replay of my recording helps me recover my lost train of thought very very fast and saves me a ton of time. Its great that you have leveraged the power of Apple Silicon to analzye and index the recordings as well as keeping the size of the recordings very very small. Do you see this becoming available for Intel Chipsets a.k.a Windows and Linux anytime soon?
Hi all, I made a desktop app which records your focus session and then replays it at high speed so that you can recover your lost train of thought very fast. Typically, it where it would take me 10 minutes or more to remember exactly what I was coding, with Trici I am able to do that in less than 2 minutes, many times in less than 30 seconds.
Whatever the interruption, whether it be the weekend, a Zoom call, switching to another important task, Trici will help you recover your lost train of thought very fast.
One of the biggest advantage I have felt is to be able to start work quickly when I have the time. I.e. if I have a 30 minute block of time, I am not going to spend 15 minutes thinking where I left my previous work and what investigation I did trying to fix a bug. I am able to see that in a minute and proceed.
Looking forward to feedback from the HN community.
As someone who is trying to reduce time spent on junk internet browsing and improve productivity, this seems like a great tool to log my time spent in front of the computer and reflect on it in future!
A question - does all data like the video recording and task list/comment stay on the system and nothing is sent to the cloud?
As you mentioned, you are far more happier sitting behind and building the product, maybe you could hire an intern for a few months who would be happy reaching out to people and try and get them to pay and if they don't, then understand why they are not doing so. Are you really solving a problem that exists? An intern with good people skills and empathy should be able to help. Though personally I was not sure what is the value add that a website for a small business would have over a facebook page.
