On the plus side it is fun to use agents with my subscription, on the downside i really really like using Claude Code via ACP is Zed and now this is nerfed.

These seem like not the same thing and it seems silly to bill them the same way but differently than using the CLI or official app.

This is what I did, downgraded to pro and pay for opencode zen for the open models. I like the combo of the two

Oh, https://opencode.ai/zen looks good. I like pay as you go plans since I usually don’t use many tokens compared to vibe coders.

I regret paying Google for a one year AI subscription last spring (although it was a deep discount over the regular $20/month cost) because it has kept me from experimenting with many venders (but it was a fantastic deal financially).

I just put a reminder on my calendar to try OpenCode zen when my subscription ends.

Claude models in opencode use the Claude code system prompt, are you comparing Claude code to opencode with non anthropic models?

Yes.

That's apples to oranges then. You should use the same model between both harnesses if you want to evaluate the harnesses individually.

Your downvoted but this is the worst part of using zed today and i really hope they can come up with a solution

It already does this btw, when you use Cc from the vscode terminal and select things it adds it to cc context automatically

As does Copilot

You’re missing the point tho. The point of the cli agent is that it’s a building block to put this thing everywhere. Look at CCs GitHub plugin, it’s great

CC on github just looks like Codex. I see your point, but it seems like all the big players basically have a CLI agent and most of them think that its just an implementation detail so they dont expose it.

opencode.ai

I neeeed this google login method in sst's opencode now haha

I doubt it. I maintain both RN apps and other ones with both iOS and android versions and if you are not a company and your app does anything more than a todo list your iteration velocity grinds to an absolute halt. RN is just faster and that matters

Yes.. but all that really matters in a zero sum game is that Vscode and cursor have good Python integration and zeds is not good. I live zed otherwise but I have to do Python all day so I don’t use it

VS Code uses proprietary lsp
