Conceptually, I've seen many of these fantasy-social-sports-betting sites, so I hope you have a good idea in regards to user apathy towards them, but best of luck to you anyway.
From a UI perspective, as I won't login using Facebook to get the whole UX, your design is very middle of the road, like the new HN theme, which I really disapprove of. Not necessarily a bad thing at launch, but keep in mind that you'll have to go up against entrenched players if you're looking for a global market outside of cricket and badminton.
I think this was an accident. The true homepage to this site is: http://www.birdpie.com/ and the submitted link is http://www.birdpie.com/railsbob which points to a user's page. The only way to truly fix this submission would be to edit the URL.
I always wondered when I saw 'Tweet This' button on popular blogs for sharing bookmarks and links. However there was no easy way to go back and search/manage the bookmarks tweeted by you. We have developed an application www.birdpie.com which stores all of the URLs (Web Links) you have entered on Twitter as bookmarks, so you can refer to them at a later date. The application takes care of minified urls to avoid duplication and pulls information from the url to auto-tag and assign a proper title. Some features are pending (like search bookmarks with keywords, etc) but they will be pushed soon.
I'd love to have feedback on its features, appearance or improvements.
In general, I really like the look (CSS3 + HTML5 = Awesome!), but maybe you should have linked to the "about" page, which is a wee bit more explanatory than the demo of your links. It takes a minute to figure out that "slices" and "bites" are a play on the "pie" aspect of the name . . . maybe change the logo to birdPIE to make it a little more intuitive, or perhaps include a pie-like spatula or a fork icon beside the links for people to "get" the lingo.
Hi, we are toying around an idea of letting users browse jobs using Maps. This will remove the job search problem caused due to quantized geocoding. For ex: Dallas is tagged as "TX". A map search will get rid of such problem.
The popularity of a job is decided by the number of followers or messages that refer to same url, which can be seen in 'Popular' tab. (24hrs/7days/30days) etc. We decided to use #rtjobs hashtag as its purpose is to share 'jobs to be filled' among the network. We wanted to differentiate the job tweets sent by bots from the job discussions done by actual twitter users. Thats the reason behind going for '#rtjobs' (re-tweet-jobs) instead of the popularly used tag '#jobs'.
Yes, we are based in London and we will surely look forward for the next Twitter Developer Nest. We have seen twitterjobsearch.com, but jobmigo.com relies on entirely different principle. Unlike twitterjobsearch.com, jobmigo.com does not index all job related posts, instead, it relies on users to retweet only the interesting posts using #rtjobs hashtag. The aim is to separate out the 'most discussed' job posts from the overload of results given by other aggregator and search tools.
Thanks for your feedback. The number next to each post title is the number of tweets referring to a particular job post. On recent tab, most of them are '1' as they are the first occurrence, however on popular tab (7 days/30 days), you can see the count as the number of tweets referring to that job, which implies popularity of the referred job post.
