Eventually we can have grid scale carbon removal systems that can soak up all of the extra electrify on the grid. Probably the same when large industrial processes are electrified, like generating fertilizer.

How is Russia bombing a nuclear power plant any different from Russia using nuclear weapons. The issue is not the nuclear power plant, it's the mad man willing to cause the end of the world to win his war in Ukraine.

It's literally the difference between bombing a nuclear power plant and using nuclear weapons. If Russia uses a nuclear weapon it uses the yield it wants, where it wants, when it wants, and leaves a pretty distinct footprint behind.

If Russia blows up Zaporizhzhia using conventional weapons it creates a totally different set of problems for Europe and comes with some deniability. They could say that Ukraine did it. It also wouldn't necessarily trigger mutual assured destruction. They just have to say, "Oops" and I bet they'd get a way with it aside from a raft of "powerful sanctions."

EVs can be powered by coal. ICE cars cannot. This is a dumb article.

Why don't you find out and share with us rather than just asking questions and having others do the work for you. If Finland is really significant to this debate then share some data.

> Why don't you find out and share with us

because it's hard to get, poopy. Even for the US.

I can find their total spending & their general policies on special ed (which I did share), but not that. On the other hand, we do have some Finnish people on HN, so maybe they know.

> If Finland is really significant to this debate

If? They have what's generally considered the best education in the world.

Software Engineers are worth more to the company when they're writing code, not when they're debugging issues with the OS. It's much more worthwhile to standardize the machines people have and let people focus on doing their actual work more effortlessly.

Each team has their own incentive:

The analytics team - get the best data possible The page speed team - get an objective analysis of the speed of a page

Even if it's in Google's interest to give their own stuff preference that would probably require some director or VP to coordinate that collusion and it's hard to say whether it would be worth the liability of having done that.

I don't think it's so much wanting Google scripts to have special treatment, but pushing the script teams to prioritize performance too, just like the Chrome and page speed teams.

Who is the intended use case? History PhDs for example?

The US also has a severe housing affordability crisis :-)

Looks like it’s going to tank…

Anyone includes George Soros

Why was April the month to buy them?
