Specifically for GPT-OSS I had great success with this: https://old.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1ng9dkx/gptoss_...

Another option would be to setup a wireguard server listening on 53. Wireguard traffic is UDP so it would work even if TCP DNS requests are blocked. And it would also make the client configuration much easier, ie just connect to the wireguard server.

Leonardo da Vinci in his Codex Atlanticus said “Do not delay or prolong your visits to the lavatory”. Looks like that was some good advice.

There is a silly scene in a movie called ‘Liar Liar’ that I used to love as a kid about the importance of not delaying a visit; the underlying plot is that Fletcher (Jim Carrey) is unable to is lie following his son making a birthday wish.

Fletcher: Your honor, would the court be willing to grant me a short bathroom break?

Judge: Can't it wait?

Fletcher: Yes it can. But I've heard that if you hold it you could damage the prostate gland, making it very difficult to get an erection, or even become aroused!

Judge: Is that true?

Fletcher: It has to be!

Judge: In that case I'd better take a quick break myself.

Its called soft touch or "rubber oil". It's basically silicone suspended in plastic which gives that soft touch feeling before it biodegrades to the sticky goo.. We can easily clean that with isopropyl alcohol. You will be left with the clean hard plastic below that layer.

There are two variants: One with the soft touch sprayed on after molding, the other mixed in with the pellets before molding. You can't do much for the latter.

Meltemi is ok, but it's "old" and not that good by today's standards. If you need a good Greek local LLM try https://huggingface.co/ilsp/Llama-Krikri-8B-Instruct. Yes, I know it's based on LLama and not a foundation model, but it is still a LOT better than Meltemi.

Have you seen H3+ ? it looks like its an HC2 with a more powerful CPU. I just received one and my plan to install OpenBSD on it some time this week.

Try Digitally Imported (https://www.di.fm) Streaming since 1999!

I would highly recommend moi3D.com. Its ‘only’ a NURBS modeler but I’ve successfully used from initial concept design all the way to DFM. Its user interface is extremely well thought out and its written by Michael Gibson who is also the original developer of Rhino3D.

$450AUD for a single user personal / non-commercial license for v4?!? That's.... insane!

About your first point, MAD was actually developed by John von Neumann and there is nothing accidental about it. 'He also "moved heaven and earth" to bring MAD about.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_von_Neumann#Mutual_assure...

Yes, but in response to the soviet threat.

> [The Soviets] believed that whoever had superiority in these weapons would take over the world, without necessarily using them. He was afraid of a "missile gap" and took several more steps to achieve his goal of keeping up with the Soviets

(This is an except from the parent's wikipedia link)
