SEEKING WORK - Remote or NYC

Android applications only

We help clients develop and grow quality android applications.

We have designed, developed and launched our own apps reaching 16M+ downloads, four of them in different domains with 1M+. Our team members have worked at Google, CERN, Groupon and in tech startups in NY.

Email in profile.

We have configured accessibility to only get all notification changes from the WhatsApp app. Nothing else. Although I should say you can have access to all events of you interacting with the screen: window changes, window touches, etc.

For the Android versions below 4.3, this is the only way to have access to the notifications. There is a much nicer (for the concerned user too) way to access them in 4.3+.

Do you plan to be able to input 3rd party private information? I would like to import my 3rd party phone numbers database and related information, being only accessible for my API account. This could lead to interesting integrations with sales databases.

Yes! This is in the horizon of the product and it would be more likely to be the following step after we get out of beta.

Interesting, which libraries did you use?

Natural Language Toolkit (http://www.nltk.org/) for Python.

The initial code for the "insulter.py", the core, was no more than 150 lines. We'll probably make our repository public at some point so you can check it out.

Are the thumbs up/down used to train the system? Looking forward to the code

Yes. In a very primitive way, at the moment, just updating the weights for adjectives

I assume you meant: "Interesting, which libraries did you use asshole"

Gitpoints (http://gitpoints.com) - Github meets Gamification

We got some initial traction with hundreds of subscribers and we are testing the MVP with few dozen startups.

Around $5K/mo for few android apps, being 60/40 between paid and inapp + paid versus ads.

It saved my day, I expected partials with cwd parameter and they were there. I used this instead of GitPython + manual popen for some git management tasks.

We've had a decrease in the number of downloads since 1st July of 50%. Our app cannot be found by its name. This is incredible.

CERN

Good article, it is good to show that there are lots of indie devs that earn money with Android.

We started last year with Android, and we are making around $2000/month (1M downloads in total) with really simple applications. The majority of the revenue comes from ads, but more and more paid apps revenue is higher!
