I am working on a CLI tool that will build a static web page for a small brick and mortar store. The software is FOSS and could be useful for the small store that has a lot of foot traffic, but is under served by many of the big tech offerings. The idea is that foot traffic can be increased by using a QR code placed on a banner outside the store directing them to the website that can display sales and types of items that the store offers. Thank you for adding some clarity to this. When I calculated 900 million downloads divided by 8.3 billion people in the world, I came with a number that made it look like about one person in 10 were downloading this model.
Thank You for this. I am also making some simple things and have been using bash with a CLI as the UI, but asking folks to use a CLI in this day and age is a bit much.

Yes, this is my opinion as well. I did my MCSE certification on win2k and their stuff was good back then, even on that old hardware. You had to beg it to BSOD.

I have spent most of my life in the San Joaquin Valley and what I have been wondering about over the past few years is what is the effect removing all that water from the faults. Specifically, does this water removal cause the stresses along the faults to build making the resulting earthquakes larger?

Water lubricates fault zones [1]. Putting it into an inactive fault makes it active. Taking it out of an active fault makes the quakes less frequent and more powerful.
Toward the end it briefly discusses a possible solution - expensive injection of water into aquifers that might have the side effect of triggering earthquakes like fracking for petroleum or some types of geothermal - there’s no winning.
It has more possible side effects than just earthquakes (not my expertise in a geological stable country). One such side effect of mixing two types of groundwater is the potential to release minerals in the geological medium that can be above beneficial use criteria (and ultimately contaminate the groundwater). There is a USGS program called PHREEQC that is used for this specific type of modelling.
Artifacts that survive this long are usually found in a buried context, which can, under favorable conditions, preserve them for long periods of time.
The artifact can be buried by colluvial(gravity driven), or alluvial(water driven) deposition before they have a chance to decay. For more information you can consult a geomorphologist, which I am not.
