As in a true believer in our present day dystopia? I think chances are we'd evolve a few more neo variants of fascism at least a few times in-between some neo variants of liberal history-ending ones (I think abundance is next?) before the bombs drop and give us the rest.

After 25 years on the internet dealing with spam, it would never even occur to me to invest the energy to write a letter to the offending companies investor. But more power to them I'd say!

I was so surprised how detailed it was, it was more in-depth and accurate than most technical writeups on the incident I've seen. It's an almost absurd level of technical detail for a mainstream popsci channel.

Thanks! I was asked to fact check a rough-cut of the video a couple of weeks ago.

Sadly they missed my suggestion to fix the spelling mistake ("UNRESOVLED").

You all did a fantastic job! It was such a dangerous moment in computing history it deserved that well of a documentary explaining what happened. The mainstream media dropped the ball hard on that one.

I didn't even notice that spelling error;)

Well you are the only person in this entire thread that even mentioned anything that would even be remotely threatening to people in power: Reducing funding to police who's only role it is to hold together society breaking apart on the seams by a structure that everybody internalized is as naturally true as gravity.

in 1997 people talking about it on the Slackware Usenet group:

    >Question: Why do you need 500MB of swap space? You would be better of
    >spending your money on more RAM than wasting it on so much swap space,
    >considering that it would most likely never be used anyways.

I work with systems that have between 256MB and 1GB of RAM and
between 4GB and 16GB available for Linux. My experience with other
operating systems is that swap should be 2X to 3X RAM

    ...

The info that I have read about Linux is that the 2x for swap space is
only for those running less than 16mb of ram. Your swap space could be
    equal to your ram

    ...

I know there are broken OSes out there where it's recomended to
have 2x RAM swapspace, but Linux is not broken in that way.
With Linux you should have <Max needed memory> - <RAM> swapspace,
and depending on your needs that might range from 0 to infinity
    MBs of swap.

    ...

THIS IS CRAZY!!!! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE F--K YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
It goes downhill from there..

As has been mentioned a few times in other comments here, I don't believe that's correct. Swap space is not just for "using more memory than you have RAM".

This is pretty much exactly what Lina Khan would say, I'm still mad Harris sidelined her instead of putting her front and center, drilling that message into people's tick skulls.

Doesn't matter, there is always going to be resistance against the occupation anyway, if it isn't called "Hamas" its going to be called something else. This is not an enemy they can ever defeat and people either know what that means or are too afraid to think that far. You just can't have other peoples land, you just can't, not without vaporizing (literally [1]) the people you took it from.

I don't know lots of zionist fashists defending their favourite ethno state all over here

But in the context of what we are talking about it's still true that nobody in the EU is making cutting edge CPU/GPU/DRAM and there are no plans to do so either (including that Infineon fab).

> Is that right?

That's the lie being told to stop stop killing games, so no.
