A modified version of a wire wrapping gun might work: https://uk.farnell.com/metcal/g200-r3278/wire-wrap-tool-manu...

Great idea, this is the closest thing I've seen yet! I've seen wire wrap circuits before but never seen this particular tool.

Useful specs are here: http://www.bynorth.com/tech

They mention Qualcomm MSM8909w processor. https://www.qualcomm.com/products/msm8909w According to its specs it supports resolution of up to 640x480 at 60fps. Kinda sucks if you ask me.

Seems good enough for the kind of data they want to display; you're not going to be playing Battlefield on these.

I'm surprised by android 5.0, I thought newer versions focused on making it more friendly for less powerful devices.

It's the lowest version they accept, afaict.

not much of a specification of the display system:

>Full color, holographic, retinal projection display

>Positioned in the line of sight

Resolution? Frame rate? Brightness? Color depth?

>0.8 mAh battery

... I don't believe this.

That's for the joystick. The actual glasses have a much larger battery.

Wearing a helmet can be demonstrated to be more effective in terms of number of lives saved by being worn by pedestrians and motorists, rather than cyclists. Are you saying that we should all wear helmets when out in public?

I am saying only what I said, if you doubt you can read it again above.

The numbers you are referring to[1] do not mention lives saved but rather head injuries by transportation modes. They say nothing about seriousness of the injury. And I am pretty sure that when biking downhill at 70km/h chances are that a head injury will be more serious than the one i'd get by falling on the sidewalk while walking. I actually hate using a helmet while biking, and often go out without one when I am biking at a leisurely pace. But when I go out to train or to get to places fast, I prefer wearing the helmet.

technically yes, but good luck selling this to the public. politicians need to be voted in every 4 years, you know

See some huge design issues with this

Drones are not that safe unmanned yet.

Something this small will never deal with wind.

The flexible spars that form the bracelet need to be rigid to reliably transfer force from the rotors to the frame.

Battery life will be terrible

Do you know if any teams will be doing the same this year? Would love to watch.

I had exactly the same experience. Kicking myself now as they were $8 each at the time...

Retrospective trading is a good way to chew yourself up. It's meaningless and pointless so don't dwell on it! Look at it from todays perspective.

We have a similar roundabout in Colchester where your driving instructor would take you if you were being cocky. It is actually incredibly easy to use if you treat it as a load of mini roundabouts.

I had fantasised about this since I was about 10 years old and today it has been realised.

Do I predict this sparking a restriction in data availability in the API?

They are already monetizing their data. DataSift is one of their key official partners [0].

That was my initial thoughts. Might this be a potential way to monetize twitter finally?

Could you elaborate please? Are you refering to the "early access" to trending topics, or restricting limits on API?

Funnily enough, Twitter could already sell 'early access' without any new algorithms. Just time shift the availability of results based on payment status. So for £100, see things that are guaranteed to be trending next hour, because they're technically trending now, but we're withholding it.

Tie a knot in the thread to the balloon, then trap this knot in the middle of a gap between two twisted threads, the ends of these held by the children.
