I think most of these issues are symptoms of the fact that "People are forced to take decisions in limited time, based on limited information and possible misinformation". It has nothing to do with the fact that general public are dumb or ignorant. How do you expect me to make informed decisions about the world if I am forced to work a day job and raise a family while taking out time for personal entertainment and recharging. To remove the constraints, one must imagine an alternative universe where a person can stop time, read and reason as much as he wants. In such a universe, these theories would fall apart.
All economy is like infinite Hilbert Hotel. You create money out of thin air to get work done in real physical world to build products and services which will in future justify the past creation of money. It's like pulling yourself forward into the "desired" future with the help of newly minted money rope. Think about it this way, most of the money in the economy just sits there in bank accounts waiting to be deployed in future. So newly minted money in a way rearranges the physical world making the future world more suitable to justify past money supply increases. In case of hilbert hotel, we make room for the new guest by simply shifting everybody by n -> n+1. The settlement never arrives because the hotel in infinite, we call always do this.
Imagine providing AI with ability to poke around a large bank of gridbased game problem instances. Ask it to solve them and learn from them and then generate new problem instances.
Why can't the backdoors themselves be more sophisticated? I understand that expecting such sophistication from legacy companies is a joke at this point.
But Zuck has to put high-quality beef on his table which involves raising Wagyu and Angus cattle on a diet of macadamia nut meal and local beer. Zuck is not gonna do charity.

One learning I can share from the indie game industry is copycats become dime a dozen when a particular game becomes successful. With execution becoming nearly cheap, tasty products and their behaviour will be copied and competition will rise substantially.
I feel like there's this assumption that some people picked up a few months back and never examined, that the big guys were going to keep plodding along with the same old methodologies and the little nimble guys with AI might be able to nimbly out play them.
But the simple truth is 100 programmers with AI are going to do a lot more work than 1 or 2 programmers with AI. All the usual considerations for communication overhead and all the old reasons why 100 programmers aren't necessarily 100 times as productive as 1 are in play... but so are all the reasons why that group of 100 programmers is going to outdo that 1 no matter how hard that 1 works.
We are probably in roughly the middle phase of the time period when we're still learning to harness AIs at all, and seeing simply some modest accelerations of process. Eventually we're going to progress to getting significantly enhanced productivity from them for pretty much everybody. And then what will happen is not that the SaaS market crashes, but what constitutes an entry-level SaaS product will rise up to meet the increased programming firepower. Find me a SaaS whose current two-year roadmap is "Eh, don't do anything, really, we're set" and I'll show you the SaaS company who probably ought to be really, really worried about AI eliminating their entire niche. I'm sure there are some out there, but it's not the usual SaaS company experience.
