It’s not integrated well into the UI and thus a big hassle to use. Much easier to just checkout the branch and create a commit (or just write a comment…)

It's soon to be illegal in most of Europe anyway. Cash payments are capped nearly everywhere nowadays with varying limits (sometimes you can do it but have to fill in a declaration above a certain amount) and there is a draft regulation in the EU which would cap them to 7000€ everywhere if the sender can't be identified.

that's not how it works though. Inflation affects a lot of goods where you have no choice, you just need it (e.g. food, utilities, housing, transportation).

Almost all good have a sliding scale for quality and how much you consume. It's not pretty or Pleasant but it's possible. I don't want to in any way sugar coat it, but it's possible. For example people don't need meat or eggs to have a subsistence diet. The fact that they continue to buy those goods at a higher price demonstrates that they are both willing and capable of paying that price before switching to something cheaper like rice and beans

I rarely watch tv all by myself. I couldn’t imagine but two, three or four of these devices and then sit on the couch with three other ppl in isolation.

Here you can scan what you buy with your phone and when you exit the store pay with app. I can pack the things straight in my bike bag and just walk out of the store. So much more convenient than everything else.
