There was a post here a while back saying that Microsoft will eventually switch to Linux instead of maintaining Windows. Given all the negativity around Windows this seems more and more likely (I haven’t used Windows myself for over 20 years so I have no idea what its like now. Last time I used it, it was XP)

Unlikely but growing as profit dwindles. Previously it was unfathomable that Apple would offer RISC/Unix Workstations, or MS would jettison IE.

This is a simultaneously insane yet deeply delightful concept. Does anyone have the link to that discussion?

This is the discussion I was referring to: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46673264

If Microsoft vibe codes a Linux distro and calls it Windows 360 Copilot, I’m on board with the conspiracy theory that the Hadron Collider broke reality

Except the problem is their UX more than the kernel itself. I don't see them keeping Gnome or KDE as a desktop UI even if they did fully adopt Linux for desktop usage.

MS should really just buckle down, finish simplifying the UI and make it consistent again... the last time it was mostly consistent was Windows 7, and even then.

I'm willing to bet that System76 gets COSMIC to the level that Win7 reached faster than MS can turn anything around in terms of Windows at this point.

I used to do the same for many years woth dovecot as well. Its not too difficult plus now with the llms it can probably be easier to maintain the configuration fires (I havent tried).

However I did have issues with the VPS provider I was using getting blocked and not just my VPS’ IP but the entire block. So at some point it became tok tedious to have to follow the unblock process.

And so I switched to fastmail and have been using it for over two years. No major complaints.

Would I self-host again? If I have the free time I think its fun and you can learn a lot. However, if you have young kids and are too busy with life I would say go with a provider you trust with your data.

Looks great!! I had the same idea a few days ago and am so glad you posted this now! I will be using it and will let you know of any feedback. So far works great on my network!

Am I the only one who has setup notifications in the terminal so when claude is done and asks for a permission or whatever else it might need the terminal has a red dot and is bouncing? I go back to it respond in two seconds and then switch back to whatever I was doing. It doesnt feel that disruptive that I would want to run it with the —dangerous flag.

Is this also a problem when buying and the seller is amazon.com or only affects third party sellers?

Running all shorts of tests (e2e, API, unit) and for web apps using the claude extension with chrome to trigger web ui actions and observe the result. The last part helps a lot with frontend development.

Even as a native Greek speaker it is hard to parse it.

Amazing oss library, glad its still being maintained!

Meh. I was a Mootools connoisseur back in the day and saddened how jQuery became more popular.

I’m glad JavaScript has evolved to the point we don’t need jQuery anymore.
