My main gripe with solar is that it doesn't last long enough. The panels have to be replaced about every two decades, but they take a bit more than two decades to amortize. This is why everyone I know that wanted to get into solar did not get into solar.
Have you run your numbers recently because a 20+ year break-even isn't common? I wonder if you have some highly subsidized power or something because most places would be under 10.
The decision to not do solar was made last year, so that's how old the numbers are. It was made together with the people selling solar. It's very dependent on the direction your roof is facing and how much roof space you have. Also, installing solar is expensive (20k€ to 30k€) here in Germany, so despite power also being super expensive it still makes no sense. There's one neighbor that did it and kinda regrets it, since it's more expensive all around.
I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but humanity is heading for extinction either way. My guess is that like with death most people just choose to not think about it. We don't even have to wait for the heat death of the universe. Our sun will eventually die and when that happens Earth will be shredded to tiny bits and pieces. That's about five billion years into the future, but humanity will be long extinct before that happens.
The species that is around for the longest that we know of is only about 200 million years old (Triops cancriformis). For mammals it's even less with about 130 million years, but that one is already extinct (Multituberculata).
Everything has a lifespan, including species, this planet, the sun and the universe.
But nevermind these far off events. It's been a while since I checked, but the same way the Earth moves around the sun, the sun and our entire solar system are moving, too. And based on records found if you dig deep into the Earth and analyze the dirt it seems that about every I don't remember how many thousand years we move through a part of the universe with a lot of rocks. It's called an extinction event, but humanity has barely survived it at least once. Imagine not one, but a few thousand asteroids hitting the Earth. Per hour. For a couple of weeks straight. Seems like we came up with a few names for that. Like Ragnarok, Armageddon, Apocalypse, ...
Taking them off the wifi and changing your wifi password seems to be all you need to do. While they are technically capable to look for open wifi, this is not something they do out of the box, as far as my understanding goes.

Not possible. They are part of the chaebol [1], meaning they are essentially part of the South Korean government. They can't really fail as long as the country exists. There's an old joke that South Korea isn't really a country, but five families/companies pretending to be one and there's some truth to this.
It is possible because South Korea does not have control in other states.
Even if chaebol is powerful they still heavily depend on export profits. They can't help themselves if EU/USA consumers and governments take this scandal seriously.
It does neither, as money is simply a representation of wealth. Increasing the supply of money without increasing the wealth will mean you'll have more money representing the same wealth. This is called inflation.
But the wealth, or value if you will, remains unaffected.
Money isn't wealth. It's just a representation. It used to be wealth back in the days before paper money, when a coin actually had the value it said it had.
