Something that has helped them grow as a person or in profession. Or atleast something is a part of that nostalgic portion of their memories.

Today I opened a .docx file on libreoffice on my linux machine. Did a whole bunch of editing and sent back the file for some semi official purpose. And the .docx file behaved as usual on the windows machine of the sender. I mean to say for many many people the workflows will not suffer even one but. It's just too much automated people whose work may suffer initially b cause they are using windows API or something like that. But that's like just for developers suffering. Most govt offices or universities just work on individual files and that will never suffer even one bit

I mean, to be honest, I've historically had most software out there break in all sorts of ways, LibreOffice had some interesting issues while working on my thesis: https://blog.kronis.dev/blog/libreoffice-bibliography-is-bro... (bit of a rant back then, when I had a section on my blog called "Everything is broken", but you get the idea)

But yeah, it probably depends on what you're trying to do with any one software package, some people will be affected more than others and sometimes most stuff will just work!

Mir titles is a feeling. It's nostalgia. It's childhood for many including me. The books are excellent written by some of the finest of their times talking to the lowest highschool level student or even a child and making him or her understand fully what all is going on. Indians love Mir.

My favorite author is Landsberg. He is in Mir titles. He got defeated by our main man C V Raman by 2 weeks to publish the same research (independently) which got C V Raman the only Physics Nobel Prize for India.

I can already browse hacker news on the terminal using the links2 text browser. I can login, upvote, unvote, write comments from my terminal itself. Only thing is that terminal browsing is not "fresh" . I mean when I browse on fone or computer then the "new" is more fresh than what I get with browsing on the terminal using links2 browser. I haven't tried it with other terminal browsers because I keep forgetting how to use them even though I have several installed. Links2 is the most intuitive.

I don't know why the world is so happily criticizing American politicians. Let me tell you Indian context. One of my friends is an African who studies in a university here. She likes it being here and the group of friends that she has made here over bachelor's and master's. I asked her why don't you stay here and get a job here only. She said something about 5 crore rupees (544,000$) being paid by the employer to her or to the government I am not sure because it's such a big amount either way it is unachievable. So I don't understand why everyone gets to point fingers at Americans. I'm positive many countries are protectionist like this. Maybe it's a good thing maybe it's a bad thing. I honestly cannot tell.

It's a complicated thing. If you read the H1B Visa requirements as plain English, they are restrictive enough to prevent the abuse of those visas is a tool for holding down wages. In theory a high fee for each visa is unnecessary because the employer would be paying a high salary to someone absolutely unobtainable domestically.

The meaning of unobtainable by recruiting domestically has been tortured to death by lawyers. I don't know what to do about that. $100 K feels like too much except for a relative handful of engineers on very high value projects. But it does have the simplicity of a direct effect on anyone trying to cheap out by using H1B visas.

If employers hadn't been caught doing anti-poaching deals, I'd have more sympathy for them.

Please include the setting called: "The buffaloes on the loose ate your entire sugarcane crop in the night. Yes Yes you made proper fences. But they are powerful and ruthless beasts. They tore through the wire fences and made one pole loose and the entire hoarde entered your field and ate your crop of 1.5 years. Now you have nothing." If I get a rupee for how many times it happens with sugarcane farmers in some parts of India

Everyone in India knew something is wrong with Covid vaccines. Even today I have some people talking about it. This newsheadline just confirms the general public observation that the experts were calling coincidence when we asked why are people suddenly dropping dead.

Zomato knows no one cares in India. That's why their team closed the report in a minute. Even after 10 years this vulnerability will remain. +1 to you for thinking deeper than the rest of us here.

Can we express the drapes and dresses worn in the animes. Because then it will be helpful for the cos players

It looks like it has a 3d draping view, but it didn't seem very good yet. Check out Marvellous Designer, that's what anyone doing digital-first uses.

Drapey clothing is probably the easiest to freehand without a pattern though. It's accurate fits that need more measuring, planning, temporary stitching, test garments, etc.

How much of this amount will they show "donated for philanthropy" . In 3rd world countries the labelling is very fluid in nature so in US also will it be this fluid or will they show it as "business purpose spending"
