Can't all of this just be explained by the restriction of money flows out of Russia? What is the point of doing business with a country if one cannot get the profits out.

This certainly isn't the only thing going on, but there's a lot of it. LinkedIn for example is lit up with this stuff.
I think what we still don't know is what effect this will actually have. Hopefully people who need help will get more of it. But I don't think deterring a nuclear power is as simple as ruining an author's career for example. To some extend, I think ordinary people, including Russians, will end up faring the worst because of the current "cancellation mob" while the military aspects won't change.
